Our light-filled, renovated two-bedroom period house is located on a native tree-lined street, shared with a community of friendly and progressive neighbours and lots of native birds. Our little pocket of Brunswick feels like a world away, but is in walking distance of Sydney Road, which is one of the most diverse and lively centres of the Inner North with lots of good coffee, restaurants, bars, affordable, diverse and quality food shopping. Around the corner from our house is Grantham St shopping strip with a supermarket, bakery, chemist and post office. Tram and bus stops are 150m from our house and the train a 12 minute walk. It’s very conveniently located for University of Melbourne, RMIT and the Parkville hospitals which are just on the other side of expansive Royal Park and the Zoo. We cycle to work (University of Melbourne), the Parkville campus is 12 mins ride away, RMIT is 20 mins. There are three parks within a 5 minute walk of our house. Shady Temple Park behind the local pub has a great playground. All the local kids play there - it's a lovely community. There are excellent public kindergarten, primary and secondary schools within walking distance. Our insulated house is cosy in winter with central heating and fairly cool in summer with an air conditioner and shaded by trees. We renovated it in 2021, so it’s fresh and comfortable. We have a kid, so there’s appropriate furniture, safety and toys (including 4+ bike and 2-5 year old scooter). Both bedrooms are large and the second bedroom could easily accommodate more than one child. There are also two living spaces with a large kitchen and dining room and a separate lounge room. We have a lovely large front garden and lawn for entertaining and for kids to play on surrounded by native plants, veggie patches and fruit trees. At the back is a separate laundry, off-street parking, compost and a lemon tree always heavy with fruit. Use of one E-bike and one hybrid city bike, both with kid seats and a Hyundai i30 station wagon with kid seat also negotiable.
