Looking to walk everywhere, including U of T and TMU, from garden home?

We are a retired couple, myself a lawyer, with some years teaching at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, and my husband an international urban designer and planner, with some terms as adjunct professor. After raising our two children in the house, and retiring from our careers, we want to experiment with leaving city life. The house is filled with charm, and vintage characteristics. While our kitchen's french doors open to a patio under our grape vine, and our garden beyond is an oasis of nature in the city, we are going to try small town living until September 2025. We are open to leaving most of our furniture in the house, although perhaps not the books and CD's. The kitchen will be fully equipped, and the beds and linens in place. If you wish us to leave the toy cupboard full, we would be happy to do so, but there will be plenty of empty shelves and surfaces for your own things. Let us know what your furniture needs are, and we can probably meet those needs. The neighbours are great, and the neighbourhood parks, cafes, markets and restaurants top-notch. If you want to leave the neighbourhood, there are bikes for short-term rent in a stand around the corner with stands throughout the city, including on campus, to return them. Also, there are safe and convenient bike baths leading to the lake and ferry, to Kensington Market and to the business district. We often cycle to the lake for a swim, and to the university pool in the winter. The subway station is a 7 minute walk away from the house. We generally use our car only to leave the city.
