Charming North Berkeley house with W/D, walk to UC Berkeley, BART, shops

I am an independent researcher on tropical forestry issues and my husband is a research scientist at a tech company (and UC Berkeley alumnus). We will be doing a big renovation on this house in spring 2025, so are looking for short-term renters from early 2024 to early 2025. I have experience running short-term rentals and am excited to share this lovely home with people who would like a clean, tastefully decorated, clutter-free, relaxing, and ideally located place to stay! We are happy to provide guest reviews/references. This older home sits at the back of a large and very sunny lot. PLEASE NOTE: There is a longer walkway up to the house and some steps along the path to the side entrance. The path is well-lit at night. The kitchen was recently renovated with beautiful new cabinets, countertops, and high-end appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped for 5 people (dishes, glasses, mugs, silverware) and has a new microwave, blender, toaster, and kettle. We provide coffee beans, a grinder, and French press, as well as a Keurig coffee machine and pods, and an assortment of teas. We also provide basic condiments like olive oil and vinegar, salt/pepper, and some spices. A door to the kitchen leads to a small laundry room with a large capacity washer & dryer (we provide laundry detergent for shorter stays). In the laundry area there is a door to the small backyard with outdoor chairs and a small table. There are three bedrooms: a principal bedroom with a queen-sized bed and attached bathroom; a smaller bedroom with a twin bed; and a larger bedroom with a king-sized bed with doors onto a deck (this room gets a LOT of sun). All three bedrooms have closets, and the larger one has 2 large closets. All mattresses, pillows, and bedding are new. PLEASE NOTE we have goose down-filled duvets and pillows on all 3 beds, as well as non-down pillows. There are 2 recently renovated, lovely bathrooms with full tubs and showers; 1 bathroom is attached to the principal bedroom. All towels are new. We provide hand soap & body soap. The living room has sliding glass doors onto a large wooden deck with a picnic table and views out over the neighborhood. It has a comfortable couch and chairs, and a smart TV. We also provide some guidebooks and magazines. The neighborhood is highly coveted for its close proximity to the UC Berkeley campus (1.4 miles), Monterey Market grocery store (0.3 miles), and Hopkins Street restaurants (sushi, pizza) and shops (0.3 miles). It is also walking distance to the restaurant and shopping areas on Shattuck Ave (.6 miles), as well as Solano Ave (1.2 miles), and 4th Street (1.4 miles), as well as to the North Berkeley BART subway station (0.5 miles) and bus stops on Sacramento Street (0.2 miles, 5 min). We can also provide a safe space to lock up bicycles if needed. No permit needed for on-street parking in front of the house. Please reach out with any questions and we look forward to hosting you!
