The old city center with restaurants and cafés is 15-20 minutes from our house. All places in the city are reachable by bicycle, or public transport. Grenoble is called the French Silicon Valley for its numerous research centers and universities. Our car and bicycles may be used to discover the surroundings. 3 mountain ranges (up to 9000 feet) with plenty of outdoor activities are 30 minutes away, Lyon and Geneva are reachable in a bit over 1h, the Mediterranean Sea is a 3h drive, and on the way, in the Rhone valley, you'll find plenty of cultural heritage, including famous Roman constructions. Paris is reachable in 3h by train.
