The house is located in a small rural village about 1 mile from Baveno and only a few minutes walk along a pebbled footpath to the beach on the lake shore. Around the village there are many footpaths across enchanted woods going all the way up to Alpino Golf Club near Gignese, Mottarone skying facilities and to the nearby village of Stresa. Other hiking footpaths lead to to spectacular alpine sites such as the Val Grande National Park. In Baveno you can swim, sail, hire bikes, enjoy food and drinks and find shopping facilities: delicatessen, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and public transport (boat, train and bus to other locations). The nearby village of Stresa hosts an international classical music festival in September and Orta San Giulio an ancient music international festival in June. Milan is one hour away by train or car and Malpensa International Airport only 45' by train, bus or car. Around Lake Maggiore there are other small lakes like Lake Orta and Lake Mergozzo where you can relax and enjoy water landscapes and walks. The house is nested on a hill. It has two floors and an outside garden. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a corridor and a bathroom. Master bedroom has two windows over the lake, all other rooms and corridor have large windows overlooking the garden and the lake shore. Downstairs there is a large hall, another small bathroom with toilet and sink, a large living room opening onto a spacious terrace overlooking the lake with a large dining table, extandable sun curtain. The garden can be reached from the kitchen balcony through a stone staircase leading to a large stone table under a pergola, a covered patio garden chairs and another table near the entrance of the laundry room where we also store kids' toys, an enflatable water pool and a dingy. We also offer other kids' furniture including a cot and a movable high chair. The garden looks over the lake and has various species of plants, including rare ones which grow spontaneously due to the presence of surrounding botanical gardens. Transport facilities by boat, bus and train connect Baveno and Stresa to Malpensa International Airport (45'), Milan (60'), and other nearby lakes and tourist attractions Ascona (Switzerland), Orta, Mergozzo, botanical gardens, music festivals. I am helping my 88 y.o. mother to manage the property and find a reliable tenant and keep the house in the family because its location and quiete is unique, a littl oasis and writers' paradise.
