It has spectacular views over the Meadows, the main park in central Edinburgh, and is a short walk from Edinburgh University, Napier University, the historic Old Town and the main railway stations, with links to Glasgow, Stirling and the rest of Scotland. From the kitchen there is a view of Edinburgh Castle. The apartment is on the top floor of a traditional tenement building, which does mean a climb up three flights of stairs (no lift) The home has comfortable rooms and lots of interesting books and paintings. The neighbourhood, Tollcross/Bruntsfield, is full of independent shops and restaurants, and there is a supermarket three minutes' walk away and an arthouse cinema five minutes' walk. Arthur's seat and Holyrood park are 30 minute or a short drive or cycle ride away, and there is also easy access to the coast line with lovely beaches, and the Pentland hills ( with mountains further north)
