The space: Welcome to this recently remodeled, energy-efficient and large one bedroom apartment located on the ground floor of a triplex residential building within central Berkeley. The entire house is built to European energy efficient standards (first remodel in US to Passive House standard). The unit is walking distance to downtown Berkeley (~10-15min), UC Berkeley, farmers markets, and BART/bus routes. The owner's daughters are young professionals in their mid-20s/ early 30s who inhabit the top and middle floors with their partners & dog and will be your go-to personnel for any question or potential issues. The large (~748 sq.ft) apartment has a private entrance on the ground floor. Its open design connects the living room seamlessly to the dining room and modern kitchen with kitchen island as portrayed in the pictures. Facing West, a pair of large French doors connect the living room to an enclosed private deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, read a book, or enjoy other activities undisturbed. The size of the bedroom allows for a desk/study area in addition to a full-size bed. A built-in closet with wooden accordion doors provides ample storage space. There is an additional closet in the hallway between bedroom and bathroom for additional storage space. Hardwood floors are installed throughout the unit (except bathroom), which gives the unit an open and spacious characteristic. Venetian plaster has been applied throughout the bathroom (shower is tiled) and on part of the kitchen walls. Back yard is not available for use for renters, however, there are many parks close by (walking and driving distance) and Tilden Regional Park is only a short 10-minute drive where there are plenty of hikes/fire trials for you to get your nature-fix satisfied. A washer is included in the unit, but as we strive for energy-efficient living there is no dryer available, air-drying clothing racks are provided. Street parking available, parking permit required (otherwise a 2-hour parking limit enforced by the city). On the next block across the street, however, there is 72-hour street parking. Utilities/wi-fi included in the rental price. The unit comes fully furnished (although furniture as portrayed in pictures is subject to change), bed linens, towels, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, cooking equipment and dishes are provided).
