Located in the charming coastal hamlet of Cape Paterson, and a manageable two hour's drive from Melbourne, this beautifully light and comfortable, architect-designed home would serve as an ideal place for a writing retreat, research work, remote project work or just for leisure and relaxation. The house is situated within the famed environmentally sustainable Cape Paterson Eco Village, increasingly a mecca for academics and other like-minded professionals. It comes replete with latest sustainable facilities and features: solar electricity/hot water, passive climate control, electric induction cooking, harvested water, wicking vegetable plots, gas-free. With the house's mid-century modernist themes, you’ll enjoy relaxing in the spacious sunken lounge, or dining al fresco in the lush internal courtyard. The study and back deck area afford beautiful sunset views, with abundant kangaroos often seen grazing nearby. The house features two large bedrooms - one with ensuite - and a large dividable study/den area, enabling the creation of a third guest bedroom. Undivided, the study/den features two separate work stations. The modern kitchen has ample bench space, with a distinctive island range hood. The expansive main bathroom has both a shower and bath. Another shower is located in the internal courtyard – there to be enjoyed after a trip to the nearby beaches – only a 10 minute walk away. The beaches of Cape Paterson and the adjoining Bunarong coast are an endless source pf pleasure and adventure. You will delight in exploring its stunning surf beaches, calm inlets and bays, reefs and rock pools, spectacular clifftop walks. Whale watching from the nearby viewing platform is a special treat in the winter months. Beyond the immediate surrounds are the lively beachside town of Inverloch, and also the busy regional hub of Wonthaggi - both a short car or bike trip away. Enjoy Inverloch’s, vibrant café and restaurant scene and cultural facilities; all shopping needs can be found in Wonthaggi. Further afield is the breathtaking Wilson’s Promontory national park, making for an exhilarating day trip, or overnight camping experience. An additional local attraction are the famous Phillip Island penguins, only 30 minutes away. Cape Paterson has good public transport, with an inexpensive, twice-daily bus service to Melbourne. The Cape Paterson eco village has become an acclaimed rural locale. Delight in the many attractions this home and the surrounding area have to offer for a unique sabbatical experience.
