Rent our historic home in beautiful NE Portland

We are two academics (PSU & OSU) traveling May-August and looking for a fellow academic to enjoy and care for our home (and cat). Our home is one unit in a historic 1911 fourplex in the heart of the Irvington neighborhood. It has a private entrance and is located on the second floor. The building has a large shared backyard and our unit has a private balcony that looks onto the trees on Hancock street. The unit is large (about 1500 square feet), has ample windows, great architectural details, a spacious kitchen for cooking and two great spaces for reading/writing. In addition to the office space on the main floor, there is a finished attic space on the third floor that we use as a second office and guest bedroom. Please note that the attic does not currently have A/C and can get quite hot during the summer. The second bedroom, featured in the pictures, currently has a child's bed but we can replace this with the full size futon in the attic. The bedroom is separated from the living and dining rooms by doors that do not fully block out sound. A crib is also available if desired. All children's toys and furniture can be removed if not needed. Supermarkets, cafes, bookstores and parks are all within walking distance. Public transit for getting around the city is also nearby. Street parking is available and we have a car available for loan if wanted.
