Description

This 3 bedroom furnished home is situated in the beautiful seaside town of Karitane, 30 minutes drive north from Otago University, and 40 minutes drive from the centre of Dunedin City. Karitane itself is a picturesque holiday spot for locals and tourists alike, situated near the mouth of the Waikouaiti River, which in part forms a wetland rich with birdlife, opening up to a tranquil inlet of clear water, and river mouth. A scenic headland populated by seals and with spectacular views, separates the river from a surf beach with fine white sand. This home is literally 5 minutes walk from these idilic features, settings perfect for wildlife photography, walking, fishing, boating, surfing, kayaking or diving. For winter pursuits, Karitane is approximately 3 hours 15 min drive to Queenstown, and another 10 minutes to the ski fields of Coronet Peak. The population of Karitane is around 400 people, small enough that most people will say hello as you pass by. There is a local general store which functions as a cafe, post office, petrol station, bus stop, and gas bottle exchange/service centre. The home is situated on a cul de sac, set amongst farm and grazing land. It has 2 double bedrooms and one single bedroom. One double bedroom has a double bed and chest of draws. The other double bedroom has 2 single beds, large table and chest of draws.The smaller room contains a single bed and a built-in double wardrobe. Sheets, duvets, pillow cases and new pillows (still in packaging) are provided. The Kitchen contains a new unused dinner set, tumbler glasses, and toaster. An electric kettle, pots, pans, wine glasses and cutlery provided. White-wear includes an electric oven with 4 element stove top, and a medium size fridge/freezer. The dining room contains a 6 seater dining table, heat pump and plenty of storage space. The lounge contains a round dining table, chairs and a 2 seat couch, TV, gas heater, book shelf and cabinet. The heater is connected to a 9 kg gas bottle outside the house, with a spare bottle in the garage. A small portable electric fan heater is available for bedroom use. The bathroom has a shower, usual sink vanity cabinet, full length mirror, and hot water cylinder cupboard, with shelves for storing towels etc inside the hot water cupboard. Toilet is separate, off the bathroom. The laundry has a washing machine and drier, iron and ironing board, laundry basket and pegs. The laundry has an outside entrance under cover by the back door. The house has fibreglass insulation in external walls and New Zealand wool insulation in the ceiling. Broadband is available via a wireless plan through several providers, which the tenant would need to set up. Fibre has not been installed but can be if this is essential, although there would be a wait time for this work. Features: Double garage (room for 2 cars or car plus boat, surfboards etc.) Large flat grass lawn, mowed and tended regularly as part of rental package. All day sun.
