I'm a current UC Berkeley professor on sabbatical for the 2024-5 academic year, looking for someone who'll take care of my lovely home in Albany, the small bayside village immediately north of Berkeley. Campus is a 15-20 minute drive; the unit is close to bus stops and a 15 minute walk or quick drive to El Cerrito Plaza shops and BART station (25 minutes to San Francisco, 5 minutes to downtown Berkeley). The structure is a group of 9 units, all independent of one another with their own front doors, nestled in the treetops of Albany Hill Park. It really feels like you're living in a treehouse. The walk up and down the hill is steep. Dedicated parking spot and plenty of street parking. The house is has 2 floors, and there are 2 flights of stairs down from street level to my front door, so you'll need to be comfortable with stairs. Fully furnished, including towels, sheets, and dishes. Huge library - mostly fiction. Close to Trader Joe's, Wholefoods, Safeway; 10 minute walk to the charming cafes and restaurants of Solano St in Albany; easy access to the freeway (but without the noise).
