This is a century-old, fully-furnished and fully-equipped family home full of character and amenities, ideal for a family. Located in Bloor West Village (one of the most desirable family neighbourhoods in Toronto). It is close to top-ranked public schools (Runnymede JR&Sr, Humberside Collegiate), as well as excellent day-cares. It is 12 minutes walking from the subway (Runnymede) for easy access to downtown. (15 minutes on line 2 to St. George station). It is 10 minutes walking from Bloor street west, with its many great cafe's, restaurants, little shops, super-markets, butchers etc. Also 20 minutes walking to the Junction area, with trendy restaurants and shops. Beresford park and playground is 2 minutes walking. High park and the Humber river (with riverside trails and biking) is easily accessible by foot or bike. The house preserves its character and charm, as well as many updates: Upstairs there are three bedrooms and one bathroom. Large picture widows on all three bedrooms, just installed last month. (One bedroom is currently an office, but can serve as bedroom as is). Ground Floor with cozy living room with wood-burning insert for warm family evenings. In dining room large picture window with view onto landscaped Japanese-inspired evergreen back yard. (Rhododendrons, azaleas, Pieris Japonica, Goji Berry, Lilac, Japanese pine and cherry trees). Vine and apple tree for fresh fruit, and vegetable box for berries, herbs etc. Covered outdoor dining area for al fresco dining all summer long. On the front, there is a south-facing retractable glass enclosed front porch with 30AMP heating element can become your outdoor office even in the depth of winter. Glass folds up and retracts entirely, so in the summer you can have a shaded open-air office. Electric car parking pod and charger. A small shed with the worlds tiniest pottery studio (wheel, kiln and workbench) for the artistically inclined. Two bicycles in the shed are for you to use. The basement has been underpinned and insulated. It has a stylish bathroom (with shower), a fourth bedroom which currently serves as a study. It has a kids room with projector facilities. There are two futons that become double/queen beds in the basement, giving you the possibility to host up to four people downstairs very comfortably. We are a family of three, both parents are academics at the University of Toronto. We are renting our home for the year we are away on our own sabbaticals. Note: we expect the bathroom upstairs to also be renovated during the spring. Note also that if you are interested in renting our electric car (2020 Chevrolet Bolt) what can also be discussed.
