Hidden gem in the green south-west of urban Berlin (Germany)

Description

We are an international (German/Italian) family of five and we are looking for subletting our house from Sept 2024 to July 2025, since we will spend the next academic year in Heidelberg. We renovated the house for ourselves in 2019. The house is composed by 3 floors. Groundfloor with new floor heating hosts a large living room and open-space kitchen, a dining room, a walk-in wardrobe and a guest WC. The kitchen is built around an original Italian gas hob with six stoves, an automatic oven, and ample storage space. A wooden staircase brings you to the First floor: Two large bedrooms and a bathroom (with walk–in rain shower). The Second floor hosts a cosy attic room which can be used as bedroom, guest room or office. This top floor is completed by another full bathroom equipped with shower and fullsize windows. The ground floor is our main daytime living area and it is embedded in the green, it offers garden access and large windows are available. We have a lovely garden in the back of the house, with old, impressive trees and quite some wildlife to observe. We regularly use our terrace for barbecues, kids activities including a stand-up pool. The basic biannual gardening services is provided by us. We would appreciate if tenants take care of simple, regular garden tasks, e.g., mowing lawn. The garden is connected to a new green terrace in the front. Private car parking is also available. We could recommend a wonderful lady for cleaning and housekeeping. The house is run on green (renewable) energy and gas supply. We enjoy welcoming, personal and child-friendly neighbors. Despite being still centrally located, the house is modern, quiet and the backside position protects it from street noise. It is located in the beautifully green neighborhood Lichterfelde-West, which hosts schools, shopping and indoor and outdoor sport facilities in walking distance. In 10min you reach recreational areas (Teltow canal, Botanical Garden, etc). Connectivity: The major shopping street Schloßstraße in Steglitz is only 10 mins away by bus or bike. The house is 3 bus stops away from Freie Universität Berlin and very well connected to Potsdam with the city train S1. The S-bahn station Lichterfelde West is at 5 mins walking distance. With the S1, one can reach Brandenburger Tor in 25 mins. Several bus stops are in front of the house. Long distance trains to all major German cities leave from Berlin Südkreuz (15 mins away). International airport BER is 30 mins by car and 1 hour by public transport.
