A bright and charming three-bedroom condo in a centrally located residential neighborhood in Reykjavík. We're a family of four who are intending to spend the autumn-semester abroad. This is our family home, where we've lived since 2016. It is roughly 140m² (1550 square feet) in size. The master bedroom: A queen-size bed and two wardrobes. Bedroom 2: A twin bed, a wardrobe and a small desk. Dinosaurs on the wall. Access to the south-facing balcony. Bedroom 3: A twin bed, a chest of drawers and a desk. Office: A small room with a desk. Another working station is situated right outside the office, in the hallway connecting the kitchen and the living room. Living room: A large, sunny area that includes a TV-nook, a sitting area and a dining area. Kitchen: Electrical induction stove, refrigerator/freezer, oven and a second oven that also works as a microwave. All usual amenities. Bathroom: Bathtub, with a shower. Recently renovated. Laundry Room: A tiny room containing a washer and dryer. It is possible to hang laundry out to dry on the back balcony or to use communal lines in the basement. The apartment is conveniently located for visitors to the University of Iceland, Reykjavík University and the Iceland University of the Arts. Most everything is within easy walking distance, including two discount grocery stores, a post office and the Kringlan shopping mall. There are many restaurants in the shopping mall and several other options are close by. A preschool is located in the same street, as is an elementary school for students aged 6-16. If you're sporty there are several gyms in the vicinity, as well as a climbing club, martial arts clubs, a tennis club and a badminton club, in addition to the local handball and football clubs. University of Iceland main campus - 7 minutes by car, 25 minutes by bus, 50 minutes on foot University of Iceland, School of Education - 4 minutes by car, 18 minutes on foot Reykjavík University - 10 minutes by car, 26 minutes by bus, 41 minute on foot Iceland University of the Arts - 6 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus, 26 minutes on foot Reykjavík City center - 11 minutes by car, 37 minutes by bus, 49 minutes on foot Closest public swimming pool - 5 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus and 27 minutes on foot Kringlan Shopping Mall - 3 minutes by car, 10 minutes on foot Closest budget grocery store - 3 minutes by car, 10 minutes on foot Closest bakery (delicious!) - 2 minutes by car, 6 minutes on foot - there is also an ice cream parlor at the same spot. The area is quiet and safe, but still very close to everything one might need, and it's quick and easy to travel to most places in Reykjavík from here. A designated parking spot in front of the garage is yours to use. The apartment is fully furnished and the rental price includes utilities, including wi-fi. I am a Research Professor at the Árni Magnússon Institute, studying Icelandic medieval manuscripts, language and literature.
