I am a Syracuse professor looking to rent out my house while I am away on sabbatical between August 2024 and June 2025 (departure/return dates are flexible). The house is ideal for faculty, staff, graduate students, and other professionals looking to rent for the entire academic year, 2024-2025. The house was originally built in 1925, but the kitchen and both the upstairs/full and the downstairs/half bathrooms have been fully remodeled. The house features central heating and cooling and also has a functioning fireplace with a wood-burning insert. The house can be configured as a 2 bedroom/2 office (as it is currently) or 3 bedroom/1 office, depending on your needs. The bedrooms each have a relatively new tempur-pedic queen-size mattress and a walk-in closet. The offices (one upstairs, one downstairs) are outfitted with desks, monitors, and abundant bookshelves. The house is furnished with mid-century modern furniture throughout. On the ground floor, the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, a dishwasher, gas stove, and everything you might need for cooking and baking. The living room has a couch, reading chairs, and a large TV. Attached is a separate dining room. The house is full of books and artwork, which could be left out or put away in attic storage. Upstairs, there is also a gym, outfitted with a Peloton bike, treadmill, row machine, and weights. A basement offers substantial storage space and a brand new LG washer-dryer. The campus is an easy 15-25 minute walk from the house, depending on where on campus you are heading. The nearby Barry Park, just 5 minutes from the house, sports a large field, woods, and a mile-long loop around a small pond. Walking in the other direction, you can hike up to the water towers overlooking the city in about 15 minutes. The house is located on a quiet, highly desirable block in a safe neighborhood. 1st month's rent and a deposit will be required to secure the lease.
