Live in our beautiful 2-room apartment while we are out of town for the summer. The first-floor apartment has two sunny rooms facing the street, one of which is a bedroom/office, the other is a living/dining room. There is also a spacious eat-in kitchen where we spend most of our time. The apartment comes with everything you’d expect to have in a lived in home, including bike parking in the courtyard, plants that are experiencing the various stage of the cycles of life, art on the walls that our friends made, and an anti-neonazi poster facing the street. The apartment is very well set up for one or two people, more would be a tight fit. The bedroom features a very comfortable pull-out sofa that will be yours for the summer. There is also a standing desk with everything you need to plug in a laptop (via USB-C) and have a place to work. We love to cook and host and the kitchen is set up accordingly. The fully-equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer combo, a dishwasher, a surprisingly good oven, an induction stovetop with a fancy automatic fan & light, a vitamix blender that solves all of your life’s problems (according to their marketing), an instant pot, a toaster that looks like a steam punk spaceship (and toasts very well), a microwave that is slightly too high to reach, a snazzy retro manual bread cutter, and at least 3 ways to make coffee, including the very pretty Mocca Master filter coffee machine on the counter and a Bialleti-style stovetop espresso Moka pot (and an AeroPress, if you insist). The bathroom is perfectly functional with a bathtub/shower combo and a washer and dryer which work very well. We have a small, hypoallergenic dog named Otto (who does not come with the apartment), but if you have a severe allergy it might be better not to stay here. If you’d like to bring a dog along, let us know and we can work it out. We can’t accept cats due to allergies. Other small pets might be fine, just let us know. The neighborhood and location are excellent and central. We are culturally in the heart of Wedding, though maps seem to disagree and claim that we are in a place called Gesundbrunnen. Within a 10-minute walk, there are 2 coffee roasters, an excellent cocktail bar, a beloved vegetarian/vegan Italian restaurant, a few cute cafes open during the day, several supermarkets, two clubs, a gallery or two, a spice importer, a climbing gym, a listening bar, and pretty much everything else you need for everyday life. The apartment is right next to the Panke river with its foot & bike path, and around the corner from Humboldthain Park. S-Bahn Humboldthain is a 3-minute walk, S- und U-Bahn Wedding a 12-minute walk, and Mitte (including Humboldt University) is about 20 minutes away by bike or by public transportation. We will move most of our personal belongings to a third room, a bedroom, which we can close off while out of town.
