Description

We are a couple of academics in Art and Architecture, and as we are going to Europe for the summer semester we are extending our home to colleagues who need to be in Atlanta for the summer. Our home is in a historical suburb of Atlanta - Candler Park, which is just 5 m. from downtown, but also is located on the Stonemountain bike trail, which connects to the Freedom park trail and the Beltline, and commute to Emory, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, and anywhere in between is very enjoyable. We are just one and a half blocks away from the center of our neighborhood, with highly rated cafes, restaurants, a grocery store (candler market, Gigi's Italian kitchen, Lafonda, flying biscuit, Fellini's pizza, moxie burger, San Fransisco cafe, Dr.Bonbay's teahouse) and the main Candler park with a public swimming pool and a playground. Just a mile away is the vibrant L5P district. Our historic neighborhood combines both worlds: the amenities of an urban center and the green space of afamily-friendly, nature-loving residential area. Once you go up the stairs, you enter a screened porch, ideal for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. As you enter the house, to your left is the living room and to your right the library. From the living room opens up the dining room, then the kitchen and finally a large 2-level deck overlooking a 3-terrace garden. At the right corner of the dining room opens a more private hallway that gives access to the bathroom, the two bedrooms and the laundry of the house. The master bedroom features a queen size bed and the second bedroom a twin bed and a toddler bed. Depending on the needs of the guests we can replace the toddler bed with either a crib or another twin bed. Finally, the library has a sofa bed that opens up into a full bed.
