Family-friendly townhouse with pool and park access in walkable Montrose

Our 2 bedroom, 1 office, 2.5 bath house with pool access (a must in the Houston heat!) is located in the heart of Houston's historic and eclectic Montrose neighborhood. The city's best restaurants and shops are just a short walk away, and the fabulous museums in the Museum District, Hermann Park, downtown, the Medical Center, the theater district, and Rice University are all a quick drive or bus ride away. The University of St. Thomas is an easy, less than 1 mile walk south through shaded residential streets, and the University of Houston and Texas Southern University are just a 15 minute drive away. Despite being centrally located, we are in a very family-friendly little pocket of Houston's most walkable neighborhood. There's a public Montessori magnet K-8 school at the end of our block and a wonderful park with a *just* renovated playground, running track, and heritage chickens (fun for watching/visiting). You can also walk to two other local parks with playgrounds and tennis courts in less than 10 minutes without crossing any busy roads. Our home is one of 10 in a small community that shares a common pool and backyard area with raised garden beds and a fire pit. The pool is safely located behind a 6-foot high fence and gate with 2 locks on it to ensure small children are safe. (We have 2 small kids of our own, so this is a top priority for us!) Our neighbors are exceptionally friendly, but also rarely use the pool -- so it's like having a private pool most of the time. In addition to the large communal outdoor area, we also have a small private backyard and front patio with outdoor seating. Two bedrooms and 2 full baths are located upstairs, and the downstairs office includes a queen-size wall bed. The primary bedroom features a queen bed and en suite bathroom, and the other bedroom has a twin bed and crib that can be converted to a toddler bed upon request. Laundry is in the upstairs hall bathroom. The downstairs office has a dedicated workspace, and the primary bedroom also includes a desk that folds down from the wall with space for a desktop computer or external monitor. Our home is exceptionally well suited for families with young children as we already have cabinet locks, corner covers, outlet covers, and baby gates in place. We can easily remove child-proofing items, toys, and crib for anyone who does not need these items, however. We love our gem of a home and neighborhood and would love to share it with you.
