Beautiful Historic Home in Family-Friendly Neighborhood Near UMD, CUA

Our family is going on a gap year of travel during the 2024-25 school year. Our dates are somewhat flexible, so please reach out if you're not sure. Our house is a gorgeous historic home in the neighborhood of University Park, which is known for its parks, family events, historic houses, tree canopy (it is designated as an urban forest), and sustainability efforts (including municipal compost pickup and pollinator meadows around town). The neighborhood school is easily walkable from our house, as are the town fields, where kids can participate in recreational soccer programs. The neighborhood is about one mile from the University of Maryland - College Park campus, so easily walkable or bikeable. You can also walk to shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and a green line DC Metro (subway) station in a mile or less. Our home has three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 office spaces, a finished basement, garage, 2 fireplaces, a large living room plus an upstairs family room, a large fully fenced backyard, and parking for two cars in the driveway. It has been designated a historic property in our county because it was designed and built by and for a prominent local architect. It retains many original features including beautiful historic molding and fireplace surrounds. It is fully furnished, and baby/children's furniture and toys can be included if desired. We are looking for a responsible person or family to care for our home while we're away. There is absolutely no smoking inside or outside of the house. Well-trained dogs will be considered; cats are not allowed due to allergies. We have wonderful neighbors who will welcome you to the neighborhood, and we are looking for a renter who will also be a good neighbor during their stay. Some of our photos did not load.
