I am a South Carolina native and a 30-year-old California resident who now spends most of my time in NYC and Connecticut, so I make our LA home available when we are back East. I'm 53 and own my own media relations agency, which I founded in 2005, working primarily in healthcare, sustainability, the culinary world, and professional services. My partner is an administrator at Baruch College in NYC and we live in Astoria and Westport, CT., when not in LA. We have a 5-year old deaf, adopted Boston terrier/chihuahua named Mika. I have lived all over Los Angeles, including Santa Monica, Venice, Hancock Park, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, and Pasadena, and Glendale is at the top of the list of places I've resided. This particular neighborhood is very quiet, with many families who have lived in their homes for decades. The views are spectacular from the home and the wildlife viewing is varied and exciting and includes coyotes, deer, bobcats, parrots, and hawks, so we enjoy spending most nights on the deck, watching the sunset and, in summer, the bats flitting around the canyon. I am an avid art collector, so the home is filled with my collection, which includes pieces by Jim Isermann, Robert Gunderman, Fritz Chesnut, Ettore Sottsass, Roy Lichtenstein, Sister Corita Kent, Robert Indiana, Harrison Fraley, and Aubrey Longley Cook. I also have worked in interior design and so the house is well-outfitted with vintage furniture designs by Florence Knoll, Pace, Charles Hollis Jones, Eames, Andy Warhol X Quinze & Milan, Betty Cobonpue, Miller Fong, Thonet, and Le Corbusier. As an avid cook and entertainer, our kitchen and dining accouterments include Alessi, MoccaMaster, Le Creuset, Revol, Kitchen-Aid, Bosch, Chemex, and iittala. I have been an Airbnb host of properties in LA, The Sea Ranch (CA), Santa Fe, and Connecticut for six years and pride myself on creating interiors that feel like home to anyone who stays with us. I have spent 25 years restoring architectural homes, which includes Steel House III by Donald Wexler and the Leeds-Howard House by Wexler, both in Palm Springs; the Picetti House by Obie Bowman and the Hines House by William Turnbull and Charles Moore, both in The Sea Ranch, CA; a unit at the Gregory Ain Avenel Cooperative in Silver Lake; and the Kelsey House in Pasadena. Most recently, I have restored an 1853 colonial saltbox and a 1922 beach cottage, both in CT.
