1915 Craftsman Bungalow, steps from the Bay, in beautiful Alameda

We're looking for someone to enjoy our 2br, 1ba craftsman house for an academic year. Great size for a couple who want a WFH office, or a small family who will use both bedrooms as bedrooms. I'm an architect and we've done our best to keep this place's beach bungalow charm intact, while modernizing all of its systems and giving it some contemporary flavor. Our house includes a sunny back deck (our backyard has an amazingly warm microclimate) and a garden to relax in. Happy to discuss what kind of furniture will serve you best, don't sweat the photo of crib and changing table if that's not where you're at. Not all of the furniture will be exactly what's in the photos so let's chat if you're interested (but it will be fully furnished unless requested otherwise). We are literally four houses away from the San Francisco Bay and the waterfront bike trail. It's an easy walk to Crab Cove, our beloved local beach (photo attached but you should google it!). If you are looking for that happy medium between walkable urbanism, access to Bay Area institutions, AND some gorgeous nature right nearby ... here it is. Most folks who haven't spent time in the Bay don't know about Alameda, but there's a reason lots of Berkeley faculty with families, or folks who work in SF, choose to live here! Super family oriented, very walkable / bikeable / beautiful. Walk to the farmer's market on Tues / Sat, or the great restaurants along Webster. We know the folks who bake our bread and roast our coffee. Easy bike ride to the SF Ferry, 51A bus nearby. Peanut butter was invented here! So were popsicles! Housing stock is super cute. Our neighborhood used to be the "Coney Island of the West" (not many vestiges of that). A block from a great neighborhood elementary school.
