122 Keefer is a detached single-family home in New Edinburgh, a historic Ottawa neighbourhood between the Prime Minister's and Governor General's residences and New Edinburgh Park. It is framed by these large public green spaces and by the Rideau and Ottawa Rivers. The ground floor is open concept kitchen, dining room and living room, with a wood burning fireplace and sliding doors to a small back patio. There is a powder room on this floor. On the second floor there are two bedrooms (one of which is currently set up as an office), a family room, a sunny office space or reading nook, and a bathroom with tub and shower. On the top floor is the primary bedroom with a large ensuite bathroom and two large closets. The basement is fully finished and offers a rec room, second office space, and a laundry room. The house is very convenient for families, given how close the parks are, the quiet streets, and the excellent local schools (walking distance or a school bus stops right outside the door). It's within walking distance of local shopping (grocery, restaurants, dentist, pharmacies, cafes, etc.) and the Parliament/Byward Market area ('downtown'). This neighbourhood is very close very close to Global Affairs Canada and home to (or close to) numerous embassies, which makes it (and the local school) feel much more cosmopolitan than many in Ottawa. There are a lot of people/families moving into the neighbourhood from abroad, given the above, and so is a welcoming environment for people in Ottawa for a year.
