Secluded room in a friendly family home

We're offering a calm, secluded and affordable room in our family home to an undergraduate or postgrade student or a young person starting out. We live in a large Edwardian house on a beautiful leafy street in Beckenham (on the Sydenham border.) Our nearest station is New Beckenham - an 8 minute walk with trains direct to London Bridge  (17 mins), Waterloo (24 mins) and Charing Cross (29 mins).   We're also within walking distance of Beckenham Junction and Beckenham Hill stations.  Central London campuses are easily accessible within an hour. Kings College Guy's Campus is particularly close via London Bridge and Kings College Strand Campus is right by Charing Cross. South Bank with the Festival Hall and the South Bank Centre, as well as the National Theatre and National Film Theatre is a quick and direct train ride. The National Gallery is waiting as you exit Charing Cross and the Old Vic and the Young Vic theatres are a stop before. Beckenham Place Park with it's beautiful green spaces and year-round swimming lake is a walk away. We've had many people stay over the years and enjoy sharing our home with the right person. We have a spacious house and a big, beautiful leafy garden to relax in. Large eat in kitchen and multiple living areas. We're looking for someone to share a smile and chat with, who is also busy like us. It won't suit someone who works from home during the week more than occasionally. We have lots of music and film in the house. I teach piano in the evenings (in a separate room, barely any sound reaches your room) and the children play violin and cello to a high level. My husband is a screenwriter, film director and former film professor at Columbia University. You should be happy to keep your side of the kitchen/living space tidy. (We also have a regular cleaner). You will have your own small fridge and some freezer space. Room can be set up with a single or double bed. You will have a bathroom that is mostly (but not exclusively) used by you and visitors (we have a separate family bathroom) .  As it's a family situation, we're looking for someone happy to socialise with their friends out of the house and we can't have overnight guests. We are otherwise quite easygoing despite being busy and looking for someone who also has a sunny, friendly approach to life and values a safe home environment and location and an affordable monthly rental in London.
