Welcome to Aix, ancient Roman colony, medieval town, university town, Cézanne home town,. Very rich and active cultural scene, including the world famous Lyrical music festival every summer. Our apartment is bright and airy, with high ceilings and light coming from two sides: Large floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the street from the living room, and over a quiet inner courtyard from the bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated recently, with high end appliances. The 'study' is separated from the living room by a french door, and can be used as guest room. There is large amount of closets, and a huge locker room downstairs for bikes, skis etc. The Parc Jourdan is kitty corner from the apartment. With its mature trees and shaded lanes, it is a great place for jogging or taking a quiet stroll. It has a children playground too! Ours is a real neighbourhood with its local elementary school, a fantastic boulangerie-patisserie, fruit and vegetable shops, flower shop, pharmacy, barber, beauty salon, print shop, and and the legendary Café Le Germinal, which has been a favorite meeting place for the locals for generations. Our apartment is centrally located, just off historical Quartier Mazarin, five minutes on foot to the famous Cours Mirabeau, its elegant cafés and the medieval lanes of the old town. Aix has a rich and varied cultural life, and is home to the world famous Lyrical Music festival every July, All within walking distance. It is also 10 minutes on foot from the local train station (to go to Marseille and the beaches) Aix is 30 minutes away from Aix-Marseille International Airport (MRS)(Marignane). There is a shuttle bus every 20 minutes. By bullet train (TGV) Aix is approximately three hours from Paris. The TGV station is about 35 minutes from downtown. By car, Aix is 30 minutes from Marseille, two and a half hours from Nice, seven hours from Paris. --
