The unit is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath, pre-war elevator building with a great view of northern Manhattan. The apartment, considerably spacious, is configured as a 1-bedroom, with a long hallway, high ceilings, an eat-in-kitchen, a comfortable living room and a large office. The bedroom has a queen-size bed, comfortably firm, with ample storage space: shelves, a dresser, an empty closet. Windows in all rooms. The office has significant desk space with one eight feet long. Both of these rooms face north with a vista that extends for miles. It's a lush view, full of trees and attractive buildings, the old New York architecture of Washington Heights. The bathroom has a full tub and a shower with strong pressure. There is a hall closet, and hooks and benches in the entrance hallway for coats and bags, as well as for storing shoes. The sizable kitchen has a table and all the necessary cookware. One has access to the entire apartment. There is also basement access which has laundry, recycling, and garbage facilities. The apartment has Wi-Fi. Historic Washington Heights boasts scenic beauty, cultural diversity and easy transportation. The area is not in the heart of Manhattan, but also not on the fringe. This is a very populated, young and trendy neighborhood. Yet it's still a neighborhood, not an area where tourists are parading through. Food and everyday items are a bit cheaper uptown. As such, and because the unit is so large and has such great windows and light, there is a satisfaction upon coming uptown, and having the sanctuary of peace and space after a day in the City. Fort Tryon Park, home to the Cloisters Museum which is run by the Metropolitan Museum, is a jewel in Manhattan's crown. With it's gardens, lawns and terraces, and majestic views of the Hudson River, it is one of the most special places in New York City. There are many good, locally owned restaurants on and around the street in a variety of cuisines. In addition, there is a true, undeveloped forest, as well as a Farmer's Market in Inwood, the last neighborhood in Manhattan, a few subway stops away. To the west, a few blocks away, is the George Washington Bridge and the Hudson River. Living immediately by the reliable A train makes living up here not only do-able, but wonderful. The apartment has all the amenities to make a stay a comfortable one. When catching the subway, one doesn't have to cross any streets. The 1 train is also nearby a few blocks away, in the event the A is having a problem. Either train will take you to 59th St. in 20 minutes. There are also several North/South running bus lines.
