The nearby Charles River and Fresh Pond offer walking jogging or bike baths. Guests have access to the entire private 1st floor apartment and 1 parking space on street nearby the house. We are located in West Cambridge, near Harvard Square and are an easy commute to Boston. The Spacious 1 bedroom private apartment is comfortable with new heating and cooling systems. Our apartment is a collection of new and vintage furniture interspersed with art. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a new memory foam mattress, temperpedic and down pillows. The front sitting room doubles as a guest room and has a twin size day bed with pillow top mattress and a pop up twin size trundle bed underneath. The living room has a 32"TV, CD/DVD player, games and books for your use. the spacious couch, rocking chair and comfy chair offer ample sitting space to relax in. The newly renovated eat in kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and Italian tile floor. There is a brand new stove with air fryer option. There is a full size refrigerator and an assortment of cooking supplies. The kitchen has dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans and some baking supplies. All the amenities of home are stocked in this kitchen. There is laundry if needed (owner supplies laundry soap provided because of allergies). Due to allergies the following is not allowed: no cooking with peanut oil, no Fabreze and no soy candles. No smoking on the premises. There is a brand new state of the art central heating and cooling system making the apartment warm and cozy in winter and cool In the summer. Apartment has LED lighting and it gets its electricity through a 100% Green Renewable Energy program, solar hot water and solar energy. Neighborhood overview Strawberry Hill is a very friendly neighborhood between Huron Ave and Mount Auburn Street. There are numerous little places by local owners offering a multitude of food within a ten minute walk. Sofra ( a spinoff from Oleana) is a quick walk away. Intelligentsia Coffee is across the street. Just down the street, Conleys Pub and sports bar is always serving up food and drinks. Homemade Greek yogurts and foods can be found at Sophia's and middle eastern food at Eastern Lemejun on Belmont St, and just before that Linda's Donuts makes the best home made donuts from scratch every morning. Moozies Ice cream is nearby for homemade ice cream. There is a large supermarket and drug store in Star Market as well as local food shops. Ravello cooks up Italian as does Cafe Fiorella. The Fresh Pond Golf Course is a public 9 hole course is just a 5 min walk. The FP Waterworks have a beautiful walking/jogging path next to the public golf course. We are a short walk to Star Market, Fresh Pond Shopping Plaza, Mt. Auburn Cemetery, and the Charles River. Getting around We are just over a 1 mile from Harvard Square. A quick walk to the 72 or the 71 & 73 buses and a 10 minute bus ride gets you to the square and the T. There are reloadable Charlie T cards for use. There is a large map on the wall and maps you can take with you. The app - open MBTA - will tell the bus arrivals if you put in the bus #. Walking to Harvard square takes 30-40 minutes. We are close to Storrow Drive and Memorial Drive for an easy drive to Boston and Rte 2. There are BlueBike bicycle rentals nearby.
