Our home is a light-filled, top-floor Victorian tenement flat with wonderful views and characterful features. It is on a very quiet street in Marchmont, which is a 20 minute walk to the city centre and a 5-7 minute walk to the University of Edinburgh's main campus. There are many great pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The flat is recently renovated, fully furnished with modern appliances and high speed internet. The lounge boasts high ceilings and unimpeded views. The spacious eat-in kitchen has an extra utility room. The flat has one bathroom with underfloor heating and towel heater. There are two large bedrooms, all with wardrobe/drawer storage -- bedroom one has a 'triple-sleeper' bunkbed with a double bed on bottom and single bed on top, and two desks; bedroom two has a queen-sized bed, a built in window-desk and custom bookshelf. There is a study that can function alternatively as a smaller third bedroom with a fold out double bed. There is an enclosed communal garden at the back, and the green delights of The Meadows and Brunstfield Links are a stone's throw away. Families with children will find the flat especially convenient and comfortable. Single occupants (preferably post-doctoral students and professionals) may be able to rent a single room on a house-sharing basis. No smoking allowed at all on the premises. Comments: The flat is on the top floor of a tenement block with no elevator. There are 70 wide steps to reach the top, divided into three sets with a long landing in between each set. The shared back garden is enclosed and excellent for families with children.
