Family Home in Berkeley for 4, Redwood Deck, Walking Distance to UC Campus

I rented this house for more than four months in the Spring of 2020. The house is located at a convenient but quiet residential neighborhood. I often walked to Berkeley Bowl, downtown Berkeley and the farmer market in less than 15 min. I used to drive to MSRI and it took about 12 min to get to the parking lot, and my car could be parked at the driveway when I came back. The house is lovely decorated and it basically has everything that I needed. The gardens at the front and the back yards are beautifully maintained. I always enjoyed watching the wonderful plants and flowers there particularly during the period of shelter-in-place. I expected some visitors and my family members to stay at the house. Because of the shelter-in-place at Berkeley, many plans were changed and I basically lived there myself. My landlords reside in a smaller house at the other side of the backyard. It is very convenient to call for help if anything in the house needs fixed but I only did it once at the beginning of the rental. I was always pleased of renting the house because I could enjoy there and complete some projects during the lockdown.

We spent 3 1/2 months in this house. The couple who manages the house are very responsive and are always willing to help. They live in a separate bungalow in the back of the house and are very discrete. The house is adequately furnished. The updated kitchen is very bright and roomy. From the kitchen there is access to a porch area which is very pleasant. The house is reasonably close to campus, shopping and public transportation. All are in walking distance. All in all, a very positive experience.

We lived in this house with our two kids in Spring 2018. Our experience is excellent. The house is stylish and comfortable, very well equipped. The owner and the manager were very friendly and flexible, we got a lot of help with moving in and out, everything was smooth. A perfect place to live in when visiting UC Berkeley, it is within a reasonable walking distance from the university but far from noise and crowds at the same time.

My husband and I rented this house for a ten-month stay in Berkeley in 2018, and can highly recommend it! It's very comfortable, nicely furnished. The common rooms are especially lovely and spacious: the living room, dining room and kitchen -- plenty of room for big family dinners or entertaining. Kitchen is well-laid out and well-equipped with all the basics. (We are avid cooks, so brought some of our own small kitchen equipment: coffee maker, Vitamix, spice grinder, a set of good sharp knives, etc.). Bedrooms are not large, but the beds (one king, one quuen [or double?] sofabed) are comfortable. Nice bath with walk-in shower. Great spacious back deck, where we spent endless hours in the summer! One off-street parking space was included (and essential) On-site owner/manager very nice, responsive. This house is extremely well-located! Walking distance to downtown Berkeley and to campus. We walked virtually everywhere: movie theaters, Trader Joes, Berkeley Bowl (grocery store), UPS, several music venues, several theaters, the post office, etc. Ideal location if you enjoy walking and exploring on foot. No complaints! -- we had a great stay!
