Originally built as a church in 1837, the timberframe structure has been completely renovated for comfortable contemporary living. It has hardwood floors, giant windows with lots of natural light, and an enormous, open sanctuary space. This house would be a great fit for couples or a family working at any of the 5 colleges. The house is partially furnished, with a big dining table, buffet, and a few other pieces of furniture that just work well in the space. The kitchen has a Viking 6-burner gas stove, a new Subzero refrigerator, a Bosch dishwasher, and an array of kitchen appliances as well as preparation and serving material, including Fiesta ware plates and cups. The front pantry has a washer and dryer. There is no television in the house, but Comcast is already connected to the main living space. Energy-efficient construction: The house features a tight envelope with blown-in cellulose insulation, new energy efficient windows, lots of LED lights, and two new hybrid heat pump hot water heaters. A new HVAC system has just been installed, and the choir loft has an energy-efficient minisplit. Although it is a large house, it has been fairly economical to keep it comfortable year-round. Amenities include: 20' ceiling height in the main sanctuary space, radiant heated floors in full bathrooms and entryway, fantastic access (just beyond the rear yard) to an enormous forest conservation area with many trails, including the Robert Frost trail, the M and M trail system, and Buffam Falls.
