Lovely light-filled quiet three-bedroom flat on the 3rd floor (no lift) of an elegant 1840s townhouse on Thurloe Square. This flat, with a caretaker/housekeeper for the building who comes in weekdays, overlooks Thurloe Square gardens, with views of the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum. It is a block away from South Kensington Underground (Piccadilly Line, District and Circle Lines) and from the semi-pedestrianized restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and shops of Exhibition Road and from the Old Brompton Road. Thurloe Square is one of the most beautiful historic squares in London, with a large gorgeously landscaped square garden. It is quiet and idyllic, but just a block away from the lively shopping streets and outdoor dining of South Kensington. This is the French Quarter of London—the Lycee and the Institut Francais are just down the street—as are French bakeries, patisseries, cinema, cheese-shop, butcher, and an outdoor flower-stall. The flat is two blocks from pedestrianized Bute Street, with its Saturday Farmers' Market. There is an independent bookshop at the corner, an old-fashioned greengrocer, a first-rate fishmonger, and numerous outdoor restaurants. The flat is a three minute walk to South Kensington Underground Station (District and Circle Lines, Piccadilly Line), a five-minute walk to Imperial College, a ten minute-walk to the Royal College of Music, to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, and to Harrod’s, a fifteen-minute walk to Chelsea--Sloane Square, the Kings Road. It’s a twenty-five-minute direct tube-ride to the University of London (Kings College, UCL, LSE, the Courtauld), to the British Library, the British Museum, Tate Modern and the South Bank. General. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, quiet, light-filled, and elegant, 3rd floor building, no lift. A non-smoking apartment with Virgin Cable TV and Wi-Fi. The overall interior space is 900 SF (83 square meters). Living Room (4.55 meters x 3.05). This elegant and sunny room overlooking the square garden is a relaxing blend of traditional English and modern materials with wood floors, two sofas, a Regency writing desk with a swivel office chair, Oriental carpets, a wide-screen TV, and an ornamental fireplace. At the other end of the room is a wooden zinc-topped dining-table that seats eight people, making this an ideal entertaining space. Kitchen (3m x 2.60m). Compact but neatly organized, with a large west-facing window with views of back gardens and the Natural History Museum, the kitchen is fitted with all essential appliances including gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Bedroom One (5.80m x 4.50). The master bedroom, with open east-facing views over the square gardens, has a brand-new king-sized bed with brand-new Memory Foam mattress (the photo shows the old queen-sized bed), with antique side tables, two reading lamps, a chest of drawers, and a built-in closet with generous hanging space and built-in shelves. Bedroom Two (4.55mx2.55m). The large second bedroom, which faces east over the square gardens, has a new queen-sized bed (also not shown in photo!), built-in closets, a bookshelf, antique writing desk and desk chair. Bedroom Three (2.75mx1.40m). This small but light-filled west-facing bedroom, overlooking the back gardens, has a single-bed with a bedside table and reading lamp. There are built-in shelves. Bathroom. The bathroom (2.25mx1.40m) has a west-facing window, a bathtub with a shower fixture and perspex screen, a basin, and a lavatory. Shower Room (1.50mx1.85m) The black-tiled shower room has a full shower with a perspex screen, a basin and a lavatory.
