Chicago, Illinois, United States
Small furnished suite in daylight basement with access to kitchenette, private bath, good natural light and ventilation, and a nice view of the street and garden. Rooms are in finished basement of my two-flat; we live on the second floor and we have tenants (lovely people) renting the first-floor apartment. Our home is in Albany Park, a vibrant, diverse neighborhood on Chicago's northwest side. Ample grocery stores, restaurants, and transit in walking distance. I am a ten-minute walk from the Francisco and Kedzie stops on the Brown line and a two-minute walk from the Montrose bus. Access to the suite is through the common area of the basement, which includes a laundry room shared by all. The living room and bedroom are private and locked. The kitchenette (featuring sink, mini-fridge, microwave, burner, and toaster oven) is a part of the common area and the bathroom is adjacent to it. No one else uses the bathroom or the kitchenette—it is yours alone. It's a sweet, quirky little space, somewhere between a completely private apartment and a guest room. A great fit for someone looking for a comfortable, reasonably private place to stay without breaking the bank. I have hosted many visiting students, writers, artists, and interns over the years. All have found it a nice place to stay and have appreciated the privacy, location (incl easy access to transit) and the safe neighborhood. A note on COVID-19: We take this very seriously and will sanitize the suite thoroughly between guests. We are mindful of shared spaces between ourselves, our first-floor tenants, and the guest in this listing and always communicate clearly about it. If you have any COVID-related questions, please ask.
