We are mature post doctoral researchers and professionals with adult children who have left home and with business and research interests around the world. One of us teaches in both undergraduate and post graduate programs in two different higher education institutions. We have travelled extensively pre-COVID and are rebooting our international and interstate travel commitments from mid 2022. We are looking for mature academic/research/professional couples or singles/couples with small families who are looking for between 1-5 weeks accommodation in Sydney, NSW - whether for study leave or just for a break. We live in a quiet suburban street - but our house is 12 minute walk to bus routes that will take you to transport hubs that in turn can get you anywhere in Greater Sydney. We are 12 minutes by car to Manly, an iconic seaside village tucked in between the northern part of Sydney Harbour ad the Pacific Ocean. We are 3 minutes by car to local shops and 5 minutes by car to Sydney's newest and most modern hospital. We are 10 minutes by car to a major suburban shopping complex with outlets from all major retail brands. In the past we have used home swap websites successfully for exchanges in London, so we are familiar with leaving our house in the hands of guests from overseas. We have nearby family members and friends who can help you out if need be and we leave a detailed operating manual for the house so that all your questions are answered. The house is solar powered, and heated in winter by a highly efficient wood burning slow combustion fireplace. We get the sea breezes in the afternoons, so on hot days the house can be opened up to let the ocean breezes cool thing down. There is pool surrounded by palm trees in the backyard with a large lounge chair on a secluded wooden deck. We have a travertine tiled entertainment space also with shade cloth for the hot days and festoon lights at night. There is a gas barbecue on the back deck that is connected to the town gas supply so you don't have to worry about refilling LPG bottles. There are bush walks at the end of the street and nearby not far from the local shopping centre. We are looking for people to rent our home who value their peace and quiet, a great view and the chance to sip a glass of wine by the pool or explore the spectacular Northern Beaches of Sydney and also further afield.
