I am a semi-retired anthropologist currently living in Lafayette, LA, where I went to college for undergraduate studies. My hometown of Ville Platte is 40 miles away. I have two sons, one who lives in Tampa, the other in Baltimore. I'd like to spend extended periods in their towns and rent out my Lafayette house while there. I am looking for a quiet, safe neighborhood to stay in. Walkability would be nice but is not required.

Comments: Great for backyard birding. Two bread companies nearby emit aroma of baking bread and one sells loaves hot out of the oven. Front porch swing. Covered patio with table and chairs off of back deck.
