Enjoy our airy and spacious apartment in Lecce, the Florence of the South. Located on the second floor of a small building from the 1400 in a pedestrian-only alley, it is seconds away from one of the most known baroque churches in town and 5 minutes walk from the city’s main piazza where you can enjoy free nightly events and bask in the multifaceted architectural landscape (ancient roman, 14th, 17th and 20th century all in one piazza!). Our house is very quiet and spacious. It has Pietra Leccese floors, warm rugs, an entry way with barrel-vaulted ceiling, and a kitchen with star-vaulted ceiling. It has a large and bright master bedroom with a double bed, a cozy second bedroom with a double bed, a large and an airy bathroom with washing machine. It has also a large study area with desk and bookshelves between the night area and the living room area. In total it can accommodate 4 people. If you are traveling by car, it is best to park it outside the ancient city walls (just a few minutes walk to our house on areas marked with white stripes, so you don't have to pay for parking). If you are car-less, the train station is 12 minute walk from our house. Convenient buses to key historical towns and to the beaches are less than 5 minute walking distance from where we are. If you drive, in 30 minutes you will be able to reach pristine beaches both on the Ionian and on the Adriatic sea. The type of shores are for all tastes: rocky, sandy, with dunes, in natural park areas, free public access and private (where you can rent an umbrella and lounge chairs). To visit the city of Lecce you will not need to take a bus: you can tour the ancient area on foot without effort or you can rent a bike if you like. At night, you will see many people strolling in the streets near our place, where there are lots of restaurants with tables outside in the warm season: but our house is tucked away in a quiet alley. If you come during religious holidays, you will be able to attend colorful and festive events such the Lecce's patron saint holiday "Sant'Oronzo" at the end of August. In the small towns around Lecce during the summer season you will be able to attend very interesting festivals, most times about food, and also about traditional music and dance customs.
