Paris, Île-de-France, France
My apartment overlooks the Prime Minister's gardens on the left bank of Paris. It is in the center of the city, yet has the feel of a monastery in the countryside. Chic location: can walk to St. Germain, St. Sulpice, Montparnasse, Champs Elysees. Bedroom and separate kitchen, both with full-length windows on garden and sun. Wake up to the sun rising over the chestnut trees and the sound of birds. Elegant, clean, quiet, feng-shui simplicity, absolute silence. Newly remodelled kitchen cabinets. Molteni arm-chair, French antique mirrors, antique and modern lamps. High end firm Treca mattress; luxury bed linens and feather duvet. Concierge building; elegant neighborhood. Wifi, printer. Extremely safe: street guarded by Prime Minister's corps, night and day. It is a good place to be if there is "quarantine" as feels breezy, open, and in nature--and the street is very safe. Listed in the book QUIET PARIS as one the best tranquil spots to stay in the city, the apartment is ideal for a scholar or writer. See video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg1Up4MQvV4 Kitchen has been remodelled since this video. Apartment repainted and new heating system installed. Disadvantages: fourth-floor walk-up (no elevator), small bathroom. No smoking or pets. No children (because of the windows). Single or double occupancy only. Metros: Sevres Babylone, Vaneau, Francois Xavier. Personal reference: I am an American film professor at the University of Paris 8, and a film journalist. I have taught as a visiting professor at NYU and Hunter College, and have lectured at the University of Rome, the University of Chicago and UNAM in Mexico City.
