Well maintained prewar building. Very clean and recently remodeled (new floors, paint, wardrobe, kitchen appliances, and bathroom), high ceilings, WiFi internet, lots of light with eastern and southern exposures, quiet, ample storage, a/c units. Large rooms with queen sized bed + pull out sofa in living room. Great space for working from home if you need to. Quiet and friendly block in a bustling neighborhood next to Yeshiva University and the Harlem River. The gorgeous Fort Tryon Park (see pictures), the Met Cloisters Museum, and the Hudson River with spectacular views are a few blocks away. Highbridge Park with a swimming pool on the Harlem River is also close by. The 1 and A (express) trains are close at 184th (A) and 191st (1). The 1 goes directly to Columbia University and Barnard College in under a half hour, and to the City College of the City University of New York in about the same time. Both the A and 1 will take you to the West Village (New School, NYU, etc.) as well as to numerous easy transfers. Many buses steps away. Also close to New York Presbyterian Hospital at 168th Street and the Allen Hospital in Inwood. Fordham University in the Bronx and other Bronx institutions are all a quick car or bus ride away. Huge laundromat with quick and inexpensive drop off service, shopping, gyms, restaurants, bars all within a few blocks. If you have a car, the Harlem River Drive, Major Deegan Expressway (I87), I95 to Westchester and CT, Henry Hudson Parkway and the George Washington Bridge to New Jersey are nearby. Parking is relatively easy and street cleaning is only one day a week. The bus terminal at the GWB station has direct buses to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC and other points. You can walk to the station and home after your trip!
