PhD student looking for room or studio in Sydney

I'm a PhD student in my mid thirties doing a joint PhD with Bristol University (UK) and Macquarie University. I've been back in the UK for a bit for medical reasons, but am now ready to return to Sydney (I was there for five months last year and loved it). I have a connective tissue disorder and chronic pain, so I use a bunch of different mobility aids: a walking stick, a manual wheelchair and some very futuristic crutches. I'm looking for somewhere for 3-4 months while I settle back into Sydney and find something longer term. My PhD is in medieval literature, specifically Arthurian literature. I'm just going into the writing up stage, so it occupies quite a lot of my time. When not working, I enjoy reading fiction, writing fiction, some birdwatching, book groups, the theatre and the cinema. I'm quite friendly, if sometimes a bit withdrawn. I'm a trans man- and quite easygoing about that but thought it was worth flagging up. Happy to live anywhere with a reasonably good commute by public transport to MQ: it's a humanities PhD, so a lot of it is just me sitting by myself and writing or reading, either at home or in a library. Willing to do quite a long commute (I often use them to read) if it's somewhere nice. Would be willing to deal with mail, some forms of petsitting and other housesitting duties for reduced rent.
