Our house is a well-proportioned end of terrace academic and architect's house in East Finchley, London. It is located on a very quiet, tree-lined road, within 5 minutes of East Finchley tube station on the Northern Line, and 5 minutes from buses to the centre of London. Beautiful Muswell Hill is also 5 minutes away, with exceptional cafes, restaurants, cinemas and gyms, and Highgate Village is 10 minutes away. It is 15-20 mins by tube to UCL, LSE, SOAS, Birkbeck, Central Saint Martins, the AA, Westminster University, and 30-40 mins to Imperial College, Royal College of Art, LCC, LSBU or the Cass LMU. The location is also well connected to the City of London and the West End by bus and tube (again around 20 minutes). For getting out of town, Kings Cross and Euston Stations are 10-15 minutes away by tube, Paddington and Liverpool Street are 20-25 minutes. Kings Cross has a frequent direct train to Cambridge, ideal for commuting to Cambridge University, and regular fast trains to northern cities and Scotland run from Kings Cross and Euston. The house also has easy road access to the north circular, M25 and M1 for driving out of town or commuting by car to universities around the country. Our home is a two storey, original Victorian house built in the 1800s and retains many of its original features. We are both architects and have renovated the house to a high standard, with new heating, boiler and plumbing throughout. There are three double bedrooms and one single bedroom; one family bathroom and shower on the first floor, and a WC on the ground floor. There is a large living room, library, separate kitchen with breakfast bar and dining table, utility room and a small conservatory. The house is well suited for families and there are play areas for the kids. The house has a garden to the rear and side, with a shed and a double swing for children. The house is fully furnished and equipped: fast broadband and wifi; desk and printer in the guest bedroom; NEST central heating system, underfloor heating and energy efficient appliances; washing machines and dryer. We supply all linen, towels, kitchen equipment, and more or less everything else for your stay. East Finchley and Muswell Hill is one of the most sought after areas in London. It is very popular with London academics, artists, designers, musicians and writers and is full of parks (Cherry Tree Wood; Highgate Wood; Queens Wood; Waterlow Park; Kenwood House and Hampstead Heath; and the Parkland Walk). The area also has a wonderful village feel and has local amenities in East Finchley and Muswell Hill, with independent cinemas, restaurants, cafes, gyms, swimming pools. Previous guests love the house and the neighbourhood and we often have academic friends from around the world coming to stay when they are in town. We did a recent house-swap through sabbatical homes with a family in Los Angeles, who loved the house and the area and are happy to give a reference. The house is available to rent as a whole.
