My apartment is a Studio with a separate kitchen. The location is prime on Madison Ave just steps from The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park (see photo of The Met at the end of the block). The building has a 24/7 Doorman and an elevator. The apartment is on the 4th floor facing 81st Street where there is an elementary school allowing for light all day and quiet nights. There are markets close by- 2 supermarkets and 3 smaller markets. All are within walking distance 3-7 blocks (less than 10 min to furthest market). Central Park is one short block away on 5th Ave with easy access to the walking path around the famous Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir as well as all the bike and walking paths in the park. The studio apartment is tastefully decorated to create two areas: the living area and the bedroom area. There is a double bed with a new premium Casper mattress. There is a sitting area in the bedroom section of the apartment with a desk. I have all new pots and pans, therefore, although the kitchen is small, it is serviceable. I have a Nespresso machine and a Breville toaster/roaster small oven (in addition to the regular oven). There is an "eat-in" area with table and chairs. The air conditioner is quiet and efficient. The bathroom tub with shower has a window and is a good size by NYC standards for a studio apartment. There are many beautiful, fine dining restaurants (for example, Sistina Italian restaurant is on the corner- see photo with red awning!) and the famous Nectar Diner a block away as well as more relaxed dining options close to the apartment (ex., E.A.T. and Eli's). Both bus and subway transportation are available very close to the apartment. The Upper West Side can be reached easily on foot through Central Park (20 min) or by bus at the 79th Street bus stop just 2 blocks from the apartment. This makes Lincoln Center, the Museum of Natural History and other Upper West Side shopping, restaurants, and sites convenient too!! I am a retired Chaplain. I am a writer and academic. I love to travel and am seeking places where I can write and explore opportunities to work as an adjunct professor while enjoying city life. Thank you for considering an exchange and I look forward to sharing my apartment and NYC with you!
