We are writer-editors. I grew up in Oakville, Ontario, and my wife in Ottawa. We are quiet, creative types. Our daughter is 8 years old. We are looking to swap homes with someone in Toronto or rent our Montreal home. Our tiny, non-shedding dog Taffy could join us (negotiable). Our century home on historic Saint Hubert Street in the Plateau Mont Royal is stunning: a two-storey Victorian mansion plus a full ceiling basement, large backyard with play set (swings, bars, slide), six bedrooms, four washrooms, three/four studies, a grand salon with fireplace (nonfunctioning), two day rooms, and a unique stained-glass foyer. Large rooms, great light, books galore. We are 50 metres away from the subway (metro Mont-Royal), great restaurants and cafes, cultural attractions. We are 5-10 mins walk from Mont Royal park (the Mountain), Lafontaine park, bike paths and cross-country skiing. Street parking with permit is easy and always available on this particular block. The house is 1 min walk from the subway/metro, which whisks you downtown in about 12 mins. The city’s best bread, pastries, cafes, restaurants, diners, music clubs, thrift stores, fashion outlets and much more are all located within 5-10 mins walk of our location.
