Our flat is super cosy, with oil-treated wooden floors mid-century furniture and LOTs of plants. The apartment is on the fourth floor of a Berlin Altbau (old-built) from 1881, with 3 meter ceilings, a spacious living room, a very sunny and well-equipped kitchen, a lovely bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a smaller studio perfect for office work (the room serves as my music studio). The toilet and bathroom are two separate rooms and are both small, but hey, in 1881 a shower was something you encountered with an umbrella. The apartment is newly renovated and the living room has an excellent hi-fi system with a idiosyncratic vinyl collection. The backyard, which we share with our neighbours, is an oasis of plants, and vegetables, with tables for seating. We love to go there for lunch. The house we live in is a self-organized tenant project, meaning that we're involved in the everyday management of the house. We are looking for a place in London that is in a quiet and relaxed neighbourhood with access to a park. It should be dog-friendly - dog bed etc are not needed but dogs should be welcome. A small garden would be fantastic but no must. A desk in the house would also be great as we are both academics and I myself will not be working at a university office but at the flat or libraries while accompanying my partner to their fellowship at Imperial. The place should have a comfortable sitting room with couch / armchair. I have studied in London and lived in Bloomsbury and Deptford, so know the city a bit. Preferred locations for this visit are Hackney (near London Fields Lido), around Bushy Park (Hampton Area), near Hampstead Heath, Kensington, Bermondsey, Greenwich... open to other suggestions. For the timeframe 10-21 August we are looking for a place outside of the city for some vacation / relax time. Ideally in the countryside but accessible by train / public transport. Open to suggestions. Scotland, Wales and Devon etc are on our list. Same as above applies, should be dog friendly.

Comments: We are looking to come to London for a research fellowship of my partner Adam at Imperial College (29 August to 21 September), hoping to go on vacation to Scotland or another scenic UK location before (10 August to 21 August).
