Small-town charm with easy access to city/universities

We're a couple from Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, seeking a home exchange in the southern suburbs of Cape Town for three to six months. Naomi works as a digital librarian focused on postcolonial community archives; her partner teaches and researches resilience. We're drawn to Cape Town's southern suburbs primarily to be closer to family in the area. We can look after dogs but are unable to look after cats due to an allergy. In return, we offer our townhouse in a flat, walkable neighbourhood, with shops, cafés, parks, and dyke trails all within easy reach on foot. The entry level is simply a front door, shoe stand, and stairs up to the main living space, which includes an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen-extension workspace with its own small deck, and a separate office/den with French doors onto the main deck — well suited to remote work. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a soaker tub), hardwood floors throughout, and modern, energy-efficient appliances. Kitchen finishes are somewhat dated, and the hardwood floors can be creaky. We're reliable, easygoing, and looking for a straightforward match with people who value mutual trust and a genuine exchange experience. We're looking for a 2BR and office/3BR home that is safe and secure, ideally in a walkable neighborhood of the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. We would prefer a three- to six-month stay, starting around mid-December 2026 or early January 2027.
