We are looking for cat-lovers to stay in our spacious flat while we are away visiting family over the summer, from 7th to 31st August. Ideally we would be looking for someone to stay for the full three weeks, but we would be open to negotiating on the dates a little bit. The flat is on the first floor of a small Edwardian mansion block, a short walk from the centre of Brixton. It comprises a large sitting room, large kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher and clothes washer, a bathroom with shower, and one double bedroom. The second bedroom is our daughter's room: we plan to use it to store our things, but if you are travelling with a child and would like to make use of this room, just let us know. Guests have access to all the flat’s amenities, which include a TV with subscriptions to Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Wi-Fi, and use of a communal back garden. The rental fee includes all utilities and council tax, and for the flat to be cleaned. Sitters must be cat-lovers, to look after our adorable and well-behaved 11-year-old ginger tom cat, Brabble. Around the corner from the flat is a large Sainsbury's supermarket and a parade of shops and restaurants. A 5-minute walk away is Brockwell Park, home to Brockwell Lido (fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool built in the 1930s). A short walk across the park is Herne Hill with shops, cafes and a Sunday market selling food, crafts and vintage clothes. The flat is located a 10-minute walk from the heart of Brixton, a vibrant neighbourhood with many restaurants, pubs, cafes and independent shops. These include the famous Brixton market whose covered arcades were built in the 1920s and 30s, and the container park, Pop Brixton. Brixton is also home to a daily market for fruit and vegetables. Brixton is connected to central London by excellent transport links, by bus, overground and underground trains. It is located at the southern end of the Victoria Line (in Zone 2). Just a few stops from Brixton brings you to Victoria, Green Park, Oxford Circus, Euston and King's Cross/St Pancras. In less than 20 minutes, the tube will bring you to Warren Street for University College London and University College Hospital, and to King’s Cross for the British Library. The 59 bus from Brixton will bring you direct to the Courtauld Institute and King’s College London, and Holborn for the British Museum. A change at Victoria onto the District Line will bring you to the three major museums in South Kensington.
