Zen Garden House with terrace garden

Description

This garden house is located in Okazaki district, North of Gion, on the outskirts of the city center, and very close to Kyoto University. It is an ancient row-house machiya (nagaya) totally renovated and opened to a terrace and a garden. Some years after renovating the house next door, the Zen House, we could access this house and its abandoned garden, it was really fascinating. A 20 meters high camphor tree is planted in the middle of the garden, almost out of scale in this neighborhood of small houses and alleys. Here you can experience a Japanese style of architecture with great openings to nature. It is ideal for a couple. There is one bedroom on the ground floor and one loft space under the roof. The living room opens to a wooden outdoor terrace and a wild garden. The house comes with all needed equipments, furniture, linen, towels, internet connection. We do monthly contracts, even for shorter terms. Price depends on the season and the occupancy.
