We are a married couple, semi-retired academic professionals, living between Bogota and Washington, D.C. We have a long tradition of sharing our home with graduate students and academics, both in Washington DC and in Bogota, Colombia. We are looking for a couple, or an individual, to rent our master bedroom with a large, double sink bathroom and share the whole house with a long term montessori teacher and student. We hope to be away for a minimum of six months. The house has been recently renovated. It is spacious, sunny and pleasant. It has three bedrooms with three baths on the second floor. There is a fourth full bathroom in the first floor, a library/TV room, a large kitchen open to the dinning room and family room. The laundry room is also in the first floor next to the kitchen. The house has beautiful landscaped gardens with a large patio, and a Pergola with outdoor furniture and hammocks. There is parking for two cars in the driveway, and it is plentiful in the street. The house has a powerful, well maintained, gas generator which automatically provides electricity to the entire house in case of a power outage. Located in quite Mount Rainier Maryland, on the East border with Washington DC, it is a five-minute drive to Catholic University, 10-minute drive to Howard University, 25 minutes to the University of Maryland, close to the green and red lines of the Metro system and bus transportation. Our neighborhood is an inclusive and friendly tight-knit community with a responsive local government. Its proximity to Washington DC gives us access to all the attractions that the Nation's Capital has to offer, some within walking distance. We are close to some of the best biking trails of the city and of the state of Maryland. We advertise only in this site, because we want to find tenants who are educated and can be good stewards of the environment and the premises. We have furnished our house to provide a home-away-from-home that is supportive and conducive to serious study, work, and creativity. Both of us have been students abroad, and perfectly understand the needs of students or professionals for comfortable, hassle-free housing and support.
