I am a full professor of economics at a Paris business school who's lived in the UK, the US, Australia & Japan, and I will be on leave in Latin America between January-March 2027. Our apartment is located in Central Paris, Metro Saint-Sebastien Froissart, to the east of the Marais district. It's a 10min walk to Place des Vosges/Bastille or Republique/Canal Saint-Martin. The area is full of nice restaurants, cafés, cocktail bars, bookstores and art galleries (incl. two on the ground floor of our building). New restaurants and cafes open every month in the neighborhood. Public transportation is easy from here. Stations to metro lines 5, 8 and 9 are 3min away. We're 30min away from almost all Paris universities & libraries. There are lots of organic grocery stores, supermarkets, swimming pools and gyms around, and they stay open on Sundays in the neighborhood. There are also two farmer markets around the corner. The apartment is in a 19th Century building and is a 75 sq meters -- 807 sq feet apartment on the 5th floor (no elevator). It’s very bright throughout the day with open views and no overlooking neighbors. It has a bedroom (queen sized bed), a large kitchen with a table, a bathroom with a shower & bathtub, toilet, a separate office (with a day bed), and a large living/dining room (with a working fireplace) that is opening to the length-wide balcony (we have coffee/meals outside there, when weather permits). We’re located on a quiet street and the bedroom overlooks a large courtyard with trees. It's the apartment where we live so it’s fully equipped and there are all the usual amenities, large tv screen with cable, wifi and hi-speed internet... it's ideal for a couple who likes to cook. The price is 2,300 euros for the month, including all charges (electricity, heating, hot water and internet) and a cleaning person who comes in every week.
