Hi! I've got some spare space in my basement that is available for a temporary or long-term lodger. It comprises a bedroom, adjacent living or office space, and private bathroom. Although you'll have your own space, you are welcome to make yourself at home in the house. You'll be sharing a kitchen and living room with the owner (41 year old gay male), as well as an orange tabby cat called Hoagie. There is a small garden as well as a rooftop terrace that you are welcome to use. Washer and Dryer are in the basement, so I'll need to go down to use that, but otherwise your space will be private. There is street parking available. I am usually on campus during the day, but try to WFH one day a week. I will ask you to watch/feed the cat if I need to go away briefly. Location-wise, it doesn’t get better than this! Although Philly doesn’t have officially recognized neighborhood boundaries, the house is located at the confluence of Northern Liberties, Fishtown, and South (“Olde”) Kensington, with the main commercial orientation towards Girard St. and Frankford Ave (= many shops, restaurants, cafes, gyms etc). There’s a park across the street, and the neighbors are great. I’m within walking distance of Temple and Drexel, and Penn is one shot on the Market-Frankford Line. If you’re commuting to any of the suburban campuses, you could walk to Temple Station, or take the MFL to Jefferson Station (it takes 13 minutes, door-to-door), and hop on the Regional Rail there. Photos of the basement are unfurnished; for short term rentals I'm assuming that you will need furniture (which will be moved from another room), and am fine to do furnished or unfurnished for longer term rentals.
