2BR APARTMENT with option of adding on an 800 sq ft art studio. Main apartment is bright and lit by a mix of windows and skylights. The high ceilinged living area is furnished with vintage furniture, art books, and curios I've collected over the years. It has character and a lived-in feel in other words. Not set up as a generic rental. The kitchen is very up to date, has plenty of counter space, and is a pleasure to cook in. It's furnished with an induction stove, microwave, deep double stone sinks, a Bosch dishwasher, and a large collection small appliances (a cuisinart, a sous vida gadget, several smoothie blenders, a juice machine, Jura espresso machine, Zojirushi rice cooker etc. and a set of sharp Japanese knives, and a drawerful of All-Clad pots and pans.) There is a full bath, and a half bath, and a laundry room with a Bosch washer/dryer. One bedroom has a double mattress (Beauty Rest) a window onto a leafy yard and a skylight; the other has a queen ("organic" Satva) mattress, mid century furnishing, and a tiny window. Both rooms have air purifiers, great sheets, down duvets, and four different types of pillows from which to choose. Greenpoint-Brooklyn is one of the most vibrant areas in all of New York these days, and is often preferred over Manhattan because it feels less daunting, more like a small town. The apartment is a block from grocery stores, the subway, a few blocks from the ferry into Manhattan and near to several Citi bike rental bays. In other words, it's a great home base from which to explore the city. My exact location is on a lively, mainly commercial street (think millennial cafe's not factories) in the Historic Landmark District of Greenpoint, the side streets of which are filled with classic brownstones and family life. Recently, the waterfront has been developed into a wonderful esplanade for strolling, people watching, and viewing the sunset and skyline. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, (many with Michelin Stars, many reviewed by the NYTimes), casual and quirky local cafe's and bars, a few yoga studios, and two pottery studios. And despite all of this, you will sleep as well as in the countryside, because it's absolutely quiet. For direct exchanges of over 1800 square ft you'll have access, additionally, to a workspace, an 800 sq. ft loft-like storefront that once housed a printing press. It has three desks, bookshelves, a reading area, and a yoga area (with mats and blocks). For longer exchanges, you may hire my housekeeper directly for weekly or bimonthly cleanings at $30/hour. Photos of the workspace on request, via email: Yama4yama@gmail.com. Note: the use of the office or art studio space (separated by a locking door) will be contingent on availability.
