This is a ground-floor apartment in a VIctorian house on a very desirable block with a north view over the city. I occupy the top two floors of the house (I'm a retired UCSF professor). The apartment for rent was recently occupied by my son and his family. The apartment is definitely quirky, in the way of Victorian houses that survived the 1906 earthquake: the angles are not 90 degrees and the floors are not entirely flat. However, it's a very pleasant apartment that everybody who has rented has enjoyed living in.. The block is quiet and friendly with a fair number of small children, the neighborhood is green (but hilly) and just over the hill is the incredibly affluent Dolores Heights, where tech zillionaires live. We are a ten-minute walk from the Noe Valley shopping center in one direction and the Castro in the other. There is a garden that tenants are welcome to use.
