Thank you for reading about this unique location IF you are looking for a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of life to center, rejuvenate, and create! This is a place where you can see deer and turkeys strolling on the front lawn, hear barred owls hooting in the evening, watch fire flies be awed by a star-stuffed sky, enjoy clouds and birds and rainbows, brilliant sunrises and sunsets and the vissicitudes of New England weather! Ambrosia is located on a picturesque ridgetop in a bucolic community of 750 residents in northwestern Massachusetts. The closest town, Greenfield, is 12 minutes away, and a very easy 30-40 minutes from the academic hub of the Pioneer Valley, including the UMass Amherst, Amherst College, Smith College, and numerous other centers of learning and culture. Boston is a very easy 2 hours to the east, Brattleboro VT 25 minutes north, and Mass MOCA, the Clark Museum and other cultural offerings of Berkshire County are an equally easy 1 hour+ to the west. Add walking, hiking, biking, kayaking, dancing, and taking a dip in the Green River just 10 minutes away. This is truly a mecca for both peaceful contemplation, concentrated work, closeness to nature, and having access to recreation and fun. Take note: the closest amenities are 12 minutes (seven miles) away. No popping out to get something here! Leyden doesn't even have a post office! The kitchenette has a microwave, hotplate, and fridge. My first tenant, a photographer and writer who had an extended stay, got meals delivered via Hello Fresh every week, which he most contentedly warmed in the microwave. Though remote, we have excellent Internet service, and Ambrosia has a signal booster that works quite well. The coffee table in the living area has a top that can be adjusted to desk height and moved to give you the view you want. At the moment Ambrosia doesn't have a television or bluetooth speaker for music. Being above the garage, you do hear the door opening and closing. Given that I'm a semi-recluse myself, that shouldn't be too bothersome as I can go days at a time not using my car! I work from home, and adore spending my free time walking, playing in my gardens, mowing my yard, meditating and studying. On the whole I'm a most amenable neighbor! Speaking of neighbors, my closest are a sweet family with two young kids, two cats and eight chickens, and when the weather is warm their family sounds float over the lawn. Fortunately Willow, their 8-year-old, sings in PERFECT pitch! This is a no pets facility. A big reason is that I don't want the worry of unwanted barking or an unsupervised pet running around on my or others' property. However, I might be willing to bend depending on your needs. Don't be afraid to ask!
